Thank you for participating!

Thank you for participating in my first crowd-sourced ebook. Your answer and that of thousands of other authors will be collated to determine what the majority want to read about in the new ebook. The internet has given writers a profound opportunity to pretest their materials in front of real, live people before they invest in developing a book.

Would you like to know what I did to put this together?

1. I thought about the most common questions and concerns I hear at writers conferences, speaking engagements, and by email every year.

2. I put together a survey asking those questions. One of the easiest ones to use is www.SurveyMonkey.com

3. I sent it out to a defined subset of my list of many, many thousands of authors and future authors.  If I didn’t have such a list, I could have invested $100 in a Google Adwords campaign, optimized, and sent every respondent to a web page I’d set up with the survey on it.

4. Now I will collate the results, think about, research, write, edit, improve, edit, improve, edit, edit and edit the ebook.

5. Next, I’ll send you and the others the promised free copy and then I’ll offer it as a paid product at the price most commonly voted for in the survey.

Although I have other products and ebooks, this is the first “crowdsourced” one. The marketing theory behind crowdsourcing was summarized by PT Barnum long ago: “Give ‘em what they want”.  May I suggest you test and/or crowdsource your proposed book?

I’ll be sure to send you a copy of this when it is done.
